A Patient Care Advocate can offer various services based on the individual needs of each client, for example:

Review of medical records to explain diagnoses.
Consultation with pharmacist regarding current medications and possible interactions of medications.
Attending doctor or nurse practitioner office visits to help translate diagnosis, medical care options and the possible need of a second opinion.
Assistance with referrals to specialists.
Consulting with the hospital staff in case of hospitalization.
Arranging for special nursing services while hospitalized or on discharge from the hospital.
Consulting with the billing specialist to review medical bills and/or medical bills.
Referrals to temporary rehabilitation facilities or assisted living homes.
Religious preferences included.
Other services as needed can be discussed.
